Join the Minnesota Rural Water Association, Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for a free workshop for drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utilities on adaptation and resilience. The workshop is part of the Creating Resilient Water Utilities (CRWU) initiative, which provides drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities with the practical tools, training, and technical assistance needed to increase resilience to extreme weather events.
The workshop will be held in at the Holiday Inn and Suites St. Cloud in St. Cloud, Minnesota on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
Workshop Objectives- Share information about how environmental conditions and extreme weather events (such as drought and flooding) could impact drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities in the Midwestern U.S.
- Introduce EPA's Creating Resilient Water Utilities (CRWU) resources and tools.
- Identify and share information on adaptation strategies to build utility long-term resilience and discuss strategies for making the business case to invest in resilience.
- Share utility stories of successful resilience planning effort and adaptation activities.
- Provide an overview of available resources for financing resilience and adaptation.
